Time relay with delayed descent
Purpose
Time-delayed dropout relays are used to sustain power supply to the controlled receiver for a specified time after the control voltage is lost, such as in bathroom ventilation systems, where there is sustained operation of the fan - which is switched on together with the lighting - for a specified time after the lighting is switched off.
Operation
The application of control voltage S to the relay causes it to operate and switch on the voltage of the controlled receiver. After the loss of control voltage, the operation of the receiver is maintained for the holding time t (adjustable by potentiometer). After time t, the controlled receiver is switched off automatically. If the control voltage S is applied again before the set time has elapsed, the relay performs its work function from the beginning.
