Lighting dimmer with memory of light intensity settings, with Softstart function.
Universal lighting dimmer SCO-802-LED is designed to regulate the brightness of dimmable lighting sources1, especially LED lighting, up to 150 W2.
Other features:
- installation in a standard installation box with a diameter of ø60 mm;
- possibility toconnect to any installation (both 3-wire and 2-wire, without available neutral wire in the installation box);
- use of any momentary button (also backlit for switching on, switching off and adjusting brightness,
- memory of set brightness level (also after power failure and return);
- smooth brightening and fading of light;
- possibility toprogram the minimum brightness level (eliminating the phenomenon of flashing LED lamps at low brightness levels);
- built-in thermal protection to prevent overloading of the dimmer.
1 The condition for proper operation of the dimmer is the connection of dimmable light sources. Make sure that on the packaging or in the instructions of the light source there is clear information about the possibility of brightness adjustment. This is often represented by one of the two symbols below:
Due to the wide variety of dimmable LED lamp designs, it may, in rare cases, happen that the selected lamp will not work properly with the SCO-802 LED dimmer. Typical symptoms of such cases include: low adjustment range and light flickering. Therefore, it is recommended to carry out a test before installing the dimmer.
2 Indicative value. The limit value of power depends on the design and quality of the connected light sources, and in reality may be significantly lower than the specified value.
Operation
Lighting is switched on and off by briefly pressing the momentary button connected to the control input of the dimmer3. A long press of the button causes a smooth4 brightening or dimming of the light. Another long press of the button changes the direction of operation:
brightening → dimming or dimming → brightening.
Once the minimum or maximum value is reached, continuing to hold down the button no longer changes the brightness level. If the dimmer is set to the maximum value, another long press will reduce the brightness level. If the dimmer is set to the minimum value, another long press on the button will increase the brightness level.
The brightness level set by a long press of the button is retained in the dimmer's non-volatile memory. Turning on the light by briefly pressing the button restores the brightness level previously set.
3 If a low brightness level is set then at the time of switching on, there may be the effect of a stronger brightening of the light, which will then be lowered to the set
value. This is to ensure that the LED lamps are properly activated. The light turns on smoothly in about 0.5÷1 second.
4 The transition time from off to full brightness level when the button on the SCO-802 dimmer is pressed for a long time is about 10 seconds. The actual characteristics
of brightening/dimming will depend on the design of the light sources. It may happen that this process will not be smooth, for example, in the initial range of adjustment there will be
large changes in brightness level, and in the final range very small changes.
