SF soft starters are used to perform safe starting of asynchronous 3-phase squirrel-cage motors. The use of a soft starter makes it possible to eliminate star-delta systems. At the same time, it drastically reduces the current surge occurring during start-up even of highly loaded drives (e.g. mills and crushers).
Operation
Motor starting is carried out on all three phases of the power supply. This prevents the occurrence of network load asymmetry and uneven loading of the motor windings. In addition, the advanced protection functions implemented in the softstart protect the motor during both starting, operation and braking.
