Functions of pulse counter MB-LI-4 Hi
- 4 independent counters
- counter input suitable for operation with AC/DC signals
- ratio setting (floating point value)
- scaled value (number of pulses × coefficient)
- selection of state 1 triggering option: high or low voltage.
- selection of the input pulse edge (rising or falling)
- frequency filter, allowing to limit the maximum
- frequency of counted pulses (elimination of interference at the input of the counter)
- memory of the counter status after a power supply voltage loss
- digital input function
Operation of the pulse counter:
MB-LI-4 module is a 4-channel unidirectional pulse counter. Each channel is independent and counts pulses according to individual settings. The results are presented as the number of pulses and a scaled value in the range from 0 to ~4.29 billion. The counter has a software function to reset the counter status of each channel independently. When the maximum number of pulses is reached (overflow), the counter automatically resets and counts from 0. The module has configurable options for counting pulses with a low (0 V) or high (V+) signal and with a rising or falling edge.
In addition, the counting input can be used as a digital DI input with the ability to read its state.
Reading of counted pulse values, scaled values, setting of all counting parameters, communication and data exchange are realized through RS-485 port using MODBUS RTU communication protocol.
The switching on of the power supply voltage is indicated by the lighting of the green U LED. Correct data exchange between the module and the other device is signaled by the illumination of the yellow LED Tx.
NOTE!
An external control voltage is required to trigger the input in any case. If the power supply voltage of the module is used for this, it means, loss of galvanic separation between control inputs and power supply and communication.
